Get started with Revit integration

The LetsBuild  plugin for Revit© helps facilitate the communication between users on Revit and field project members on LetsBuild .

Using the plugin, Revit users (e.g. architects) can stay within their  known environment (Revit) and field users within LetsBuild while exchanging the latest plans and drawings, including updating their versions.

Currently, the plugin allows exchanging views of plans and drawing from Revit to LetsBuild .It is the a first step in  facilitating the communication between the BIM model and  the field efficiently in an efficient way on LetsBuild Aproplan.

The LetsBuild  plugin is compatible with Revit© 2019 and 2018.

Installation steps

> Download the following .msi file to install LetsBuild  on your Windows computer.

Connecting with LetsBuild

> Open Revit

> Go to Add-Ins

> Look for APROPLAN in the Add-Ins

> Select APROPLAN  and key in your APROPLAN  credentials

> Click  “Project” to see all the projects you have access to in APROPLAN.

Well done! You have successfully connected your Revit with APROPLAN.

Pushing a document to APROPLAN  with Revit

> Open Revit

> Select the sheet to export within your Revit plugin structure

> Connect to APROPLAN  using the plugin

> Enter your APROPLAN  credentials

> Tick the ‘Export as a new document’ checkbox then tap Export.

> A successful export creates the first version of the document

> Exported document is now visible on APROPLAN within the folder structure that’s previously selected and defined in Revit

3. Updating a document in APROPLAN with Revit

> The first steps to selecting the project and the location of the export are similar when creating a document, as illustrated above

> Select the document you want to update and deselect the option “Export as a new document”

> Once done, you can see in APROPLAN newer versions of the documents with version numbers automatically added

4. Troubleshooting with Revit integration

> An error is expected if you try to push a new version of a document while the previous version is not done processing on APROPLAN

> In the document folder, you will know when a document is still processing if there’s a loading animation on the document icon

  • Uninstalling APROPLAN plugin

Where can I find the logs for issues encountered during plugin installation or plugin use?

If you encounter a problem during setup, run the setup with a parameter for logs to be enabled. When needed, you can send these logs to our support. To enable logs, do the following:

  • Open a console
  • Go to the folder where the setup is
  • Run the following command

msiexec /i Aproplan.RevitSetup.msi /l*v setup.log

  • The file "setup.log" will be created next to the msi file, which should contain all error details.

Any problem encountered while using the app are created in logs by the login. You can find these logs in this folder:

%AppData%\Autodesk\Revit\Addins\[last version of revit number]\\2019\Aproplan.RevitPlugin\logs

This folder should contain files with the “.log” extension for each time the plugin is used, which should contain all details of the errors.

How do I install the Revit plugin if I have multiple versions of Revit on the same computer?

To maintain the plugin for multiple versions of Revit, you need to install the plugin manually by copying the latest Revit version installed onto the other versions.

  • Go to %AppData%\Autodesk\Revit\Addins\[last version of revit number] folder
  • Copy the Aproplan.Revit.addin and Aproplan.RevitPlugin folder to the other versions of the Revit folder: %AppData%\Autodesk\Revit\Addins\[others versions]

Got a problem? Contact our support here or ask your questions online directly on the app.
